I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the Lord helped me.
Psalm 118:13
God will allow you to be pushed to the very point of your inability to stand, and then He will help you. There is no other way to grow, no other way to become stronger or more stable. You need to know where your weaknesses are so that you can avoid them, and you need to practice standing with God’s help no matter where you find yourself.
Remember that you’re in training. None of this is by accident or without purpose. When you surrendered your life to Jesus you put yourself completely in His hands, and from that point on you can just trust Him to lead, guide, and strengthen you as He knows best.
As you catch on to this and begin to enjoy it, the next verse of this Psalm becomes yours, too:
The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.
Psalm 118:14
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for being my strength. Thank You for filling my soul with joyful music. Thank You for saving, healing, and strengthening me through what comes my way today. Amen.
