In Your steadfast love give me life, that I may keep the testimonies of Your mouth.
Psalm 119:88

A testimony is what we call it when a witness tells what he has personally seen, experienced or done. 

A Christian’s testimony is his story of what God has done in his life, his personal experience of God.

God’s testimonies are His statement about Himself, about what He has done.

God’s testimony says that He created me, redeemed me with the blood of Jesus, forgave me and called me His own beloved child, steadfastly loving me in spite of all my failures.

My testimony is that God’s steadfast love has made me what I am today. I’m living in God’s way, not because of my testimony but because of His.

I’m here, not because I’m wise, discerning and strong, but because in steadfast love He gives me life and strength. I keep His testimonies in my heart, living in the awareness of what God has declared to be true: I’m created, redeemed, forgiven, because He says so.

Lord God, thank You for steadfastly loving me. Thank You for not throwing me away when I fail. Thank You for calling me Yours, for Jesus’ sake. Amen!
