Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Sunday 2/15/2026 Devotional

I had said in my alarm, "I am cut off from Your sight." But You heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to You for help…
Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!
Psalm 31:22, 24

Yesterday as I prayed with people in our parking lot, I found several who were in that place that David describes here: they felt as though they were cut off from God, that He had lost sight of them and wasn’t hearing their prayers.

One man had just learned he has multiple health problems developing that all need attention. One lady whose husband is dying just learned that she herself has some dangerous blood clots forming; another whose mother died recently; another whose son is getting out of prison, today.

Do you sometimes feel like your line of communication with your Father in Heaven has been cut, as you struggle with the latest onslaught? Do you suspect that God has lost sight of you?

David admits that he felt that way in his distress, but then he says, ”But You heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to You for help…“

He discovered that even when he felt like God wasn’t hearing him, He was hearing, and answering him.

So he turns and says to you, speaking through three thousand years of time, ”Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!“

Take courage. Be strong today. God is hearing your prayer and “He will turn all things for good for those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.” Wait for Him; trust in Him.

Thank You, Father, for hearing me when I cry out to You, whether I feel it or not. I will wait for Your answer, Lord. Amen.
