Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.
Psalm 37:4-5

The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when He delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.
Psalm 37:23-24

God has a plan for your life. If you will commit your way to Him, to doing it His way, trusting in Him to bring it about, He will act; He will make it happen.

Sometimes He will put you through a time of trial to see whether you are really committed to doing it His way and trusting Him or not. Will you stay faithful when it looks like doing it God’s way isn’t working for you?

In those moments it’s easy to lose hope and cheat. But just trust Him and let Him see that your commitment is real. Stay the course, and you will find that when He is delighted in your way of doing things, He will “establish your steps.” What you thought was shaky ground to walk on will turn out to be perfectly solid under your feet.

Lord, You know the temptation I face to give up, listen to the advice of ungodly counselors, and cheat. Help me to stay the course, trusting in You, trusting in Your Word. Establish my steps; vindicate my faith and bring Your plan about, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
