Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Friday 2/13/2026 Devotional

And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He departed and went out to a desolate place, and there He prayed.
Mark 1:35

Jesus wanted to pray. He had been working until late that night, but He got up early, while it was still dark, to get some time alone with His Father, even going to a “desolate place,” where He would not be interrupted for a while. He only got a few hours of sleep that night.

They came looking for Him and eventually found Him. They brought more demands on His time, important demands. More people right there in Capernaum needed a touch from Him.

But by that time He had gotten His directions from His Father and knew what He would do, how He would spend that day. It wasn’t what the people expected or what His disciples expected, but it was what His Father had called Him to do.

And He said to them, "Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out."
Mark 1:38

Get your directions from God. He might have something different, unexpected, but right for you to do today.

Lord, I need my time with You. Let’s take a few minutes right now. I need to hear from You. Amen.
