Back then and still today, many believe that little children have to learn to think like adults in order to have a saving faith; that unless we are able to rationally understand the teaching we can’t have faith. At first, even the Twelve Disciples were taken in by this false idea, turning away parents who were bringing their babies and little children to Him.

But the Lord Jesus turned this thinking on its head. He explained that unless we adults come to trust in Him the way that a little child does, we can’t even get in the door.

Just trust Him. Understanding comes later, sometimes much later. Some things I won’t understand until I get to Heaven, but I know that I can trust Him, anyway.

Lord, I know that Your Word is true, although sometimes I don’t understand it. Sometimes Your promises defy human logic, but You are the Lord of Creation, and the laws of science and logic are Yours. I don’t always have to understand; I know that I can trust You. Amen.
