Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Friday 10/17/2025 Devotional

We have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.
2 Corinthians 4:2

In the world, propaganda rules the day: half-truths, opinions presented as “scientific” facts, polls designed to give a predetermined result, outright lies and angry shouting to drown out anyone who disagrees. There are no limits to what people will do to get us to believe what they think we should believe.

But all the while, surrounded by the screaming and shouting, flashy campaigns and marketing strategies, God’s Word continues to quietly state the truth.

The truth doesn’t change. It isn’t responsive to trends. It was true a thousand years ago, it’s still true today, and it will be true as long as the world lasts.

There’s no need for the latest marketing trends or publicity methods. Just let the truth of God’s Word be heard and let it commend itself to the conscience of whoever hears.

Not everyone will accept it, but that’s okay. Some people prefer the lies.

If our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the “god” of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4

Lord, help me to keep the presentation of Your Word simple. By Your Holy Spirit, let Your unchanging truth speak to the hearts of those who hear. Open eyes and give clarity, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
