Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Thursday 4/16/2026 Devotional

He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:7-8

I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 91:2

We spend far too much time trying to figure out the details of the “end times.” God has purposely not given us enough information to make a really detailed chart, to be able to point at it and determine where we are on the timeline. He told us as much: “It is not for you to know” means “That’s none of your business.”

He told us what we should be focusing on instead: we are to be His “witnesses.”

A witness is someone who tells what he has experienced, what he knows, what he saw. He doesn’t make up stories or give his opinion. He simply gives the facts of his own knowledge and experience.

Do you have knowledge of Jesus from personal experience? Can you bear witness to the reality of His presence in your life?

Lord Jesus, give me the experience of knowing You, personal knowledge that I can share from my own life. Let me be a faithful witness, so that people can hear and see and decide for themselves what to believe. Amen!
