Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Friday 7/4/2025 Devotional

For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.
From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them.
Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.
Malachi 3:6-7

Dear friends, Happy Fourth of July!

Today we remember, celebrate, and thank God Almighty, Lord of Heaven and Earth, for the freedoms we enjoy in this country. In His mercy He moved through the founding fathers to create a most unique experiment in human government, based on the fear of God rather than the fear of powerful men. If you read the Declaration of Independence, it’s impossible to miss the sense of godly fear and trust that permeates the entire document.

Of course, no human experiment will ever be perfect, being run by imperfect men. We know that, and so did those good men who wrote it. Our ultimate hope remains in the Reign of the Lord Jesus Christ in the hearts of men today and finally when He returns to establish His perfect, eternal kingdom.

Meanwhile, we praise and thank Him for what we have, and we proclaim His unchanging offer of forgiveness, healing, and blessing on everyone who returns to Him in godly fear and faith.

Lord, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in my own life, and in the life of our nation. Thank you for the peace,  freedom and security we enjoy today:
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” Amen!
