Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Psalm 19:14

The Lord Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” What fills my heart will, sooner or later, come out of my mouth.

If the meditations of my heart are full of lust, greed, hatred and bitterness, my mouth will display those thoughts. If my heart is filled with clean and pure thoughts and good desires, formed and guided by the Word of God, that’s what will come burbling out when I’m not watching myself.

Lord, let me think Your thoughts after You. Guide, control and empower the meditation of my heart so that the words of my mouth do good and bring blessing to those who hear me, for Your sake. Amen.
