And those who know Your name put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Psalm 9:10
God does not forsake those who trust in Him, but sometimes we feel like He has. Sometimes we wonder why our prayers don’t seem to be answered or why He lets us suffer things that He could easily remove.
God always has His own agenda, His own plan and purpose. Sometimes His purpose is simply to stretch my faith so that I learn by experience to keep trusting in His Word when all the evidence seems to contradict Him. Sometimes He is teaching me to get my desires and my prayers in line with what He wants.
Sometimes I don’t know why things happen; I just have to trust Him as I go through them. In His fatherly kindness He usually, eventually, gives me the understanding that I need, although He doesn’t owe me any explanations.
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
1 Peter 5:10
Lord Jesus, I trust You. I believe the promises of Your Word. Give me the understanding that I need for today, as I wait for You to personally restore, confirm, strengthen and establish me. Amen.
