Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.
Matthew 24:35

The disciples were astonished and dismayed to hear the Lord Jesus prophesy the destruction of Jerusalem, which would happen less forty years later. Being Jewish, that sounded to them kind the end of the world.

But Jesus explained that that wasn’t the end of the world, yet. There would be wars between different nations and other signs of corruption, including false prophets and false religions that would arise and deceive many people. The end would come, but not just yet.

And He assured us that there’s one thing we can depend on, no matter how unstable everything else becomes. Even the heavens and the earth - the whole created universe - is temporary, but God’s Word has no time limit. It’s solid, stable, and eternal.

You can build your life on it and it will carry you through whatever comes. He assured them, Everyone then who hears these words of Mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Matthew 7:24

Lord, help me to build my life on the solid foundation of Your eternal Word. Guide me to make my decisions, large and small, with this in mind, today. Amen.
