Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Monday 12/8/2025 Devotional

For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.
Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son…
Hebrews 3:3, 5-6

In all the Bible there is no man greater than Moses. Guided by the Holy Soirit, Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible, led the people of Israel out of slavery in Egypt, gave them the Ten Commandments and all the Law of God, and taught them how to live as God’s people and how to worship Him. He was “faithful in all God's house, as a servant.”

Our Lord Jesus is in a different category altogether. He, too, is faithful in all of God’s house, but not only as a servant. He is the heir, the Son. It all belongs to him.

If the son of the owner of a company goes to work in the family business, he’s expected to not only behave like a loyal employer; he should set the example for all other workers to follow, precisely because he is the heir of it all. So the Lord of it all was faithful, obedient: “Not my will, Father, but Yours be done,” He prayed.

During His life in earth He took the role of a servant. He emptied Himself of His rightful glory in eternity to do His Father’s bidding, like a servant.

“Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11

Lord Jesus, I’m in awe of You. Thank You for my salvation, forgiveness and redemption, obtained at such great cost to You but given freely to me. Help me to live up to it. Amen.
