Every word of God proves true; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
Proverbs 30:5
Do you find yourself thinking, "I wish I could do what the Bible says, but it's just not practical. I can't afford to lose the income I get from sticking to the way I'm doing, even though I know it's wrong?" Or "I'd do it God's way but what would my friends think of me?"
Here's the answer. Every Word of God proves true. Yes, you might take a hit in your finances or lose those friends if you choose to live as God commands. But it won't matter, because not only is His Word true and all His promises absolutely trustworthy, God Himself steps in and He is a shield to those who will trust in Him.
But we have to not just believe, in the sense of giving give intellectual consent to what His Word says, we have to step out in faith, trusting Him to fulfill His Word and be our protector. He'll keep you safe; He'll provide for you in ways you can't imagine.
If you will do this, you will find Him faithful. Trust Him. Believe His Word; take the step of faith. Trust Him!
Lord Jesus, I know it's true that You keep Your Word. I know I'm wrong when I do something else. I confess that I've been letting the world squeeze me into its way of thinking. Forgive me, and give me the courage I need today to step out in faith and obedience, in Your name. Amen.
