For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.
Psalm 36:9

The fountain of life is with Jesus. The further I am from Him the less of that fountain is available to me. The closer I live to Him, the more I can live life at its fullest and best.

The light of His Word illumines my thoughts, clarifies my understanding of the world, and enables me to see things clearly as they are. The fog of darkened human reasoning is dispelled and life makes sense in the light of God’s revelation.

You give them drink from the river of Your delights.
Psalm 36:8

Lord, knowing You and seeing things by the light of Your Word has made all the difference in my life. I can’t get enough of You. The river of Your delights is sweet to my soul.
Lord, anything that keeps me from You has got to go. Show me what keeps my heart from being closer to You. Forgive and cleanse it away, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
