Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Wednesday 11/12/2025 Devotional

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other.
As the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Colossians 3:12-13

“Forgive, as the Lord has forgiven you.” That’s a very generous standard of forgiveness. If I am to forgive at that level, there’s practically nothing I can’t forgive.

One trouble I find is that we’re often not aware of how much we’ve been forgiven. It’s easy to think that I have a right to hold on to my grudges and unforgiveness: after all, what they did really offended me and hurt me.

But when I see myself from God’s point of view, the depth of my own sin and how completely I have been forgiven, the failures of other people and their offenses to me pale in significance.

Lord, give me a clear picture of my own failures and of the greatness of Your forgiveness to me. Help me to get a true perspective on these things, so that I can forgive others who have done me wrong, for Your sake. Amen.
