Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Thursday 2/26/2026 Devotional

As with a deadly wound in my bones, my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me all the day long, "Where is your God?"
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation and my God.
Psalm 42:10-11

The devil taunts us when God, for His own reasons, delays His answers. His mockery tends to penetrate deep into our soul, because our sinful flesh is already deeply wounded with a natural tendency to doubt God’s faithfulness. The enemy of our souls mocks us as he twists that knife.

Thoughts assail us, unbidden: “You were so sure your God would keep His promises. Where is He now?!”

The answer come in this Psalm. We can speak words of faith to our own soul: “Why do you doubt? Why all this inner turmoil? Oh, my soul, keep your eyes of hope fixed on God! Wait with joyful anticipation for the answer you know is coming. You know that in just a little while you’ll be singing His praises!”

Lord Jesus, help me to keep my heart faithfully focused on You, trusting in Your promises, joyfully waiting for Your answer. I know You are always faithful. Amen.
